Sherpani Col Pass  Mera Peak

Namaste and welcome to Sherpani Col and Mera Peak Climbing with Nepal Alsace trek.
Among the high passes in great Himalayan range; Sherpani Col pass and Mera Peak climbing are most high and challenging pass during this trekking. The trek starts from east of Nepal, Makalu region and end at Khumbu region. Along the trekking route you are crossing many beautiful villages, different traditions, cultures and spectacular view of mountains like Makalu, Kanchanjunga and Everest. After passing those passes you arrive at regular route of Mera Peak Base Camp,

Mera Peak is one of the highest Trekking Peak belong to N.M.A. (B) Group, Mera Peak climbing is not so difficult and less technical. You can climb easily if your health condition permits you. But you need good equipment such as crampons, ice axe, rope, ice croups etc. Our climbing guide will fix rope where it is necessary.

Day 01: Arrival day:
Arrival  at Kathmandu airport  and transfer to hotel.

Day 02: Kathmandu:
Free day at Kathmandu hotel include with bed and Breakfast.

Day 03: Kathmandu-Num:
From Kathmandu 45 minute fly to Tumlingtar and taking jeep to Num about 3 hours (1505m) overnight at Lodge.

Day 04: Num-Seduwa:
We start up and down to seduwa(1530)  it take almost 5 hours for trekkers and it is the 1st day of hiking but we still walk for 5 hours because the altitude is not that different so it is long but easy hike and we will stay overnight at tea house lodge.

Day 05: -Seduwa-Tashi Gaun:
From Seduwa we start hike for Tashigau(2065m),it is about 5 hours hike from seduwa following from here trail gradually start to ascend where we walk through beautiful villages and greenery mountains. Overnight stay at tea house Lodge.

Day 06: Tashi Gaun-Kongma danda:
Our hike from here is very pleasant following hiking trial to kongma danda(3562m)which takes almost 6hours because we are gaining hights so we trek easy and slow. overnight at lodge.

Day  07: Kongma  danda-Dobate:
Our trek start to gain altitude because we are doing pass heading for Dobate(3650m) passing via Tutu-La,Shipton-La(4220m)  which is the 1st pass about 5/6 hours overnight at Lodge.

Day 08: Dobate-Yangle Kharka:
Dobate to yangle kharka(3610m)it takes 5/6 hours where trial is gradually ascend and where you can feel refreshing where loats of cattle houses where Sheppard come with their cattle is June to august.over night  Lodge.

Day  09: Yangli Kharka -Jyak Kharka:
from here we hike for another kharka called langmale Kharka(4510m) it takes 5 to 6 hours which is also another favorite destination for Sheppard and from where you can see little parts of Makalu but you can feel it’s power. Overnight  Lodge.

Day  10: Jyak  Kharka to Makalu base camp(4810m)
It takes 5 to 6 hours hiking where you will be covered by mountains the perfect mesmerizing view.Overnight at camp.

Day  11: Rest day:
WE will take rest day here which Helps to overcome the altitude and we will hike for glacier to make body warm and some exercise for big day of tomorrow.

Day  12: Base camp-Hilary Basecamp: (5200,m)
Our journey from here heads westwards to camp just below Makalu west pillar, as the altitude gains slowly, we take our time with enough breaks in this high terrain our walk follows a path which climbs an ablation valley on the west side of the Barun glacier. Following this valley onto the glacier we make our way over the boulder-strewn caves and ice to a camp below the towering Mt.Makalu’ West Pillar. Our strenuous trek on the glacier is rewarded with unique views of Lhotse and the rare Khangsung face of Mt Everest.Today we walk about 5 hrs and overnight camp on of the moraine.Overnight at Camp.

Day  13: Hilary Base camp- Sherpani East Col (Base camp: (5688)
A great adventure day! We leave the camp and climb on the icy snout of the Sherpani Glaciers, three separate Col’s give access to the cirque, we will choose the most appropriate of these routes, according to the prevailing conditions, our climb follows on steep snow covered slopes, with the back-up of the fixed ropes which we had set up on the previous day.Today we hike for our Destination Sherpani col base Camp(5688m)It takes about 5 to 6 hours. Overnight camping.

Day  14: East Col  to West Col Base Camp: (6135m)
Sherpani col to West Col(6143m) to 5 hours but here we hike carefully supporting teams mate because here there are lots of khar vass which means Very dangerous holes which are hidden so we hike slowly and  togethers.  Overnight camping.

Day  15: West col (6143m)  Baruche Base Camp:
From the Col we will fix rope up to cross the glacier to the rocky crest of the West Col. This stunning cirque is framed by the sweep of Baruntse’s icy ridges to the north, the vast cliffs of Makalu, the wall of Chamlang to the south and the shapely spire of Ama Dablam ahead of us to the west. We will be having our packed lunch on the world’s highest picnic spots, in the meantime our guides will scout the safe route down the West Col. After a break a descent from the Col on fixed lines leads us to the Hongu Glacier, and end our long hard day with a gradual walk over snow slopes down to our camping.

About 5/6  hour walking to untill Barunche Base Camp (5300m descending 600m where is natural cave for Sheppard.

Day 16: Barunche Base Camp- Mera Base Camp (5300m) 6 hours walking:
finally arrive at Mera Peak Base Camp. Once at the base camp our Sherpas crew will quickly set up the camp overnight at Camp.

Day 17: Base camp- Mera High Camp (5700m) 4 hours walking.
Leaving the base camp we will follow the trail that climbs over through Mera La Pass and continue trekking along rocky and often snow covered trail towards Mera Peak High Camp. Once at the high camp our Sherpa crew will quickly set up the camps and make necessary checks on our health conditions and climbing gears. From the high camp, we can enjoy amazing views of Everest, Makalu, Nuptse, Cho Oyu, Baruntse and Chamlang. Overnight at Camp,

Day 18: Extra day for your trek

Day 19: Summit Mera Peak (6461m)
Today is the day we all have been desperately waiting for. Properly equipped and fully acclimatized we start early with the aim to reach the summit before noon. Strong winds after midday can create obstacles in reaching the summit. We start around 2 in the morning and after having breakfast we climb up the glacier and onto a ridge. Following the footsteps and guidance of our experienced climbing expert, we head towards Mera Peak summit. Once at the top we are rewarded with magnificent views of five spectacular 8000 meter peaks – Everest (8848m), Cho Oyu (8201m), Makalu 8463 m, Kanchenjunga (8586m), as well as Nuptse (7855m), and Chamlang (7319). After spending quality time at the Mera Peak summit we will descend following the same route and head back to reach Khare about 10 hours overnight at Lodge.

Day 20:  Khare - Kothe: 5 hours walking:
After having achieved our target – summit of Mera Peak, we will retrace our steps from Khare and pass through Thangnak before heading further towards Kothe. With mostly downhill trekking, we will leave the high altitudes and enter into the dense sub-tropical forest filled with rhododendron, oak, pine and birch trees. We trek until we arrive at Kothe 5/6 hour walking Overnight Lodge.

Day 21: Kothe -Tuli Kharka:
Leaving Kothe, our trail is an uphill trekking through dense rhododendron forest that goes over the western section of Hinku valley towards Tuli Kharka. From Tuli Kharka we can enjoy the magnificent views of Mera North, Mera Central and South face of Mera Peak.7 hours walking overnight at Lodge.

Day 22: Tuli Kharka - Lukla via Zatrawala Pass 6 hrs walk:
Today is the last day of our trekking. From Tuli Kharka we will ascend for the crossing of Zatrawala Pass and from the top of the pass we descend to finally arrive back to Lukla. About 6 hour walking,Overnight at Lodge.

Day 23: Lukla-Kathmandu:
From Lukla fly back to Kathmandu and transfer to your hotel.

Day 24: Kathmandu:
Your free day at Kathmandu hotel include with bed and Breakfast.

Day 25: Departure day:
After breakfast transfer to international  airport of Kathmandu for departure.

All the meals are included on the trek but we only include breakfast while you are in Kathmandu.
We don't include Soft and hard and drinking water on the trek which you can buy a number of places for  bottle (it gets more expensive towards base camp). A better solution is to buy water tablets in Kathmandu our guide can help you find the good places to fill your water bottle).
The other things not included on the trek are like Wifi, charging batteries and hot showers. Wifi is available in some tea houses. Unforeseen cost due to flight cancellation, weather conditions etc. You are responsible for extra hotel nights night and meals in Kathmandu for any extra days in Nepal due to flight delays.

Notes Please: Payment should be made 35 % of total amount in advance. Full amount must be paid before strat your trip. Cancellation should be made 48 hours before departure and 25% cancellation charge is applicable beside Tax, transportation, permits and others fixed expensive. In case of incomplete Trekking / Tour / Rafting / Climbing / Jungles safari / or others days due to the client own problem the amount of money paid not refundable. If clients want to do Trekking / Tour / Rafting / Climbing / Jungles safari / or others tours more than itinerary, they can pay after back from tour with per day basic but should be permission with our Guide.
