Basantapur Kanchenjunga Trek

Basantapur Kanchenjunga trek is a very wild, rather unknown trek that explores remote valleys near the border of China and India. It leads you to the north and south base camps of Kangchenjunga. Basantapur Kanchenjunga Trek is an interesting Mediocre Pass Trekking in Nepal.

During this trek, you are sure to visit much-uncrowded areas and cross typical Tibetan villages. Which carries you a long time before at the beginning of the previous century.

Trip Overview Kanchenjunga- About this unusual trek, we chose to do the complete routes, the north, and the south ones. Beginning from Basantapur and finishing at Tapeljung after having gone up to Pangpema, the north Kangchenjunga BC, and Oktang BC at the foot of the huge Kanchenjunga south base camp face of this giant. This (8,586m) peak is the second-highest one in Nepal after Everest (8,848,86 Meters) and the third one in the world after the K2 (8,611m) (Pakistan)

The Bashantapur Kanchenjunga trek isn’t difficult, because some tracks are not very much used. The weather can be a little bit rainy or snowy in high areas. When you are at altitude you are rather isolated and remote.

So in brief, the Bashantapur Kanchenjunga trek area is not like a standard trek like Annapurna, Everest, and Langtang trek. But be sure to do something unusual and wild, far away from the crowded routes.

Kangchenjunga in Nepali means “five snow treasures” with reference to the five summits of more than (8,000m). South, central, north, Yalung Khang, which compose this huge barrier on the Sikkim border.

Note that during the Kanchenjunga trek at the Lhonak, everybody will have face swelling only for 3/4 hours.

Drinking water during the Trek: Bottles of water are easily available during the trekking route of Nepal. But better if you can take boiled water from the lodge it cost 100 Nepali rupees. It is better to use water purification drops and tablets which you can either bring from your country or can buy in Kathmandu.

If you are first time walking in the Mountain: Whatever your fitness level, as long as you can walk for 5-6 hours a day and trek-hike a few uphills, Nepal Alsace Trek & Expedition will help you to realize your dream of seeing from the Kanchenjunga North & South base camp trek.

Food Items in Kanchenjunga Trek: During the tea house lodge trekking, you will find typical foods such as Noodles, Rice, Pasta, Potato dishes, fresh vegetables, eggs, and Chicken items for dinner and Lunch. Breakfast items Tibetan bread, Pancake, muesli, Porridge, and toast with peanut butter. Honey and jam.

Charging Batterise Service: The most of the trekking regions, there is electricity whereby you will be able to charge your iPod and Camera batteries but they charge you extra money 100 to 400 Nepali rupees per hour.

Accommodation Service during the Trek: Kanchenjunga trek from Basantapur, you will sleep at Tea House local lodge every night which will be very basic with two single beds. Toilets are mostly shared with other trekkers. We eat in the tea house lodge and even stop for lunch during the trek to Kanchenjunga.

Necessary Trekking Permits for Kanchenjunga Trek: You need 4-week Kanchenjunga special trekking permits, a National park, and a TIMS Card for the Kanchenjunga Nepal trek it is compulsory for the trekker.

Flight and Land Transport Service during the Trek: You can fly to Biratnagar and then take a Jeep to Basantapur. If don’t want to take a flight then you can travel by public night bus to Basantapur via Dharan and Dhankutwa it takes 19 hours. From Taplejung you can fly to Biratnagar, the flight saddle is not every day per week 3-time flight from Taplejung to Biratnagar.
