Lukla to Tengboche trek Itinerary
DETAIL ITINERARY FOR THE LUKLA TO TENGBOCHE TREK
Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu)
You are arriving at Kathmandu airport and we will take your hotel from the airport one hour’s drive from Kathmandu airport.
Day 2: Fly from Kathmandu to Lukla (2,860m/9,383ft) and trek to Phakding (2,610m/8,562ft)
Take an early morning flight from Kathmandu to Lukla, enjoying panoramic views of the Himalayas during the flight. Upon reaching Lukla, meet your trekking guide and begin your trek toward Phakding. Trek through beautiful landscapes, cross suspension bridges and pass through small villages. Overnight stay in Phakding at a teahouse or lodge.
Day 3: Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3,440m/11,286ft)
Continue trekking along the Dudh Kosi River, crossing more suspension bridges. Ascend through dense forests, with occasional glimpses of mountains like Thamserku (6,623m/21,729ft). Reach Namche Bazaar, the gateway to the Everest region, which is a lively Sherpa town with shops, restaurants, and stunning mountain views. Overnight stay in Namche Bazaar at a teahouse or lodge.
Day 4: Acclimatization Day in Namche Bazaar
Spend a day acclimatizing to the high altitude of Namche Bazaar. Explore the town, visit the Sherpa Cultural Museum, and hike to the Everest View Hotel or the nearby village of Khumjung for panoramic mountain views. Overnight stay in Namche Bazaar.
Day 5: Namche Bazaar to Tengboche (3,860m/12,664ft)
Resume the trek with a gradual ascent, passing through forests and enjoying stunning views of Ama Dablam (6,812m/22,349ft). Reach Tengboche, known for its famous Tengboche Monastery with scenic mountain vistas. Explore the monastery and witness evening prayers if possible. Overnight stay in Tengboche at a teahouse or lodge.
Day 6: Tengboche to Namche Bazaar
Descend from Tengboche, retracing your steps back towards Namche Bazaar. Enjoy the downhill trail and the beautiful scenery along the way. Overnight stay in Namche Bazaar.
Day 7: Namche Bazaar to Lukla
Descend further from Namche Bazaar, crossing suspension bridges and passing through villages like Phakding. Arrive at Lukla, where you can celebrate the completion of your trek with your guide and fellow trekkers. Overnight stay in Lukla at a teahouse or lodge.
Day 8: Fly from Lukla to Kathmandu
Take an early morning flight from Lukla to Kathmandu, enjoying the scenic mountain flight one last time. Upon reaching Kathmandu, transfer to your hotel and have a well-deserved rest. End of the trek.
Day 9: Kathmandu Safty Day
It is your safety day and you can visit Kathmandu city or you can rest in Kathmandu up to you in Kathmandu hotel its include breakfast service.
Day 10: Departure
After breakfast, will drive to Kathmandu international airport for your departure.
