Day 06: From Namche to Tengboche

Day 07: Tengboche to Dingboche

From the Tengboche trail descends through rhododendron and pine forest to Dingboche, crossing the Imja Khola via a suspension bridge.

From here, the path gradually climbs through Pangboche Village, one of the oldest Sherpa settlements in the Khumbu. Along the way, you will enjoy a close-up view of Ama Dablam, as well as Lhotse and other Himalayan peaks.

As you move higher, the landscape becomes more open and arid, with fewer trees and more alpine terrain. Passing through Sumare, the trail continues steadily to Dingboche (4,410m), a beautiful village surrounded by stone walls that protect crops from cold winds.

Day 08: Trek from Dingboche to Lobuche.

Breakfast in Dingboche: Your trek begins with a gradual climb from Dingboche, following a wide and scenic trail along the lateral moraine of the Khumbu Glacier. That offers incredible views of Mountain Peak, such as Kang Tenga, Amadablam, and Thamserku.

Everest Base Camp trek with Island Peak climbing | Your trek continues, the trail leads to Thukla, a small settlement where you will stop for Lunch. After your lunch break, your trek becomes more challenging with a steep ascent to the Thukla Pass. At the top, you will see memorials dedicated to climbers who are dedicated to climbers who lost their lives on Mount Everest expeditions.

Trek from here, the trail gradually ascends along the Khumbu glacier, offering dramatic mountain views of ice formations and high mountain landscapes. This final stretch is a steady walk leading to Lobuche, a small settlement nestled beneath the peaks.

An early breakfast in Lobuche, the trail follows the rocky moraine of the Khumbu Glacier toward Gorakshep (5,140 m). The walk is gradual but challenging due to the high altitude and thin air.

Upon arrival at Gorakshep, you will check into your lodge and have lunch before continuing the hike to Everest Base Camp (5,364 m). The trail to Base Camp winds over glacial terrain with ups and downs, offering close-up views of the Khumbu icefall and surrounding Himalaya peaks.

After exploring and taking photos, return to Gorakshep for an overnight stay.

Standing at Everest Base Camp is a truly rewarding experaince, right at the foot of Mount Everest. During the spring season, you may also see colofun expedition tents set up by climbers.

Day 11: Lobuche to Chhukung via Kongmo La Pass

There is a very cold wind plus thin air immediately feels a gradual ascent toward the east side of the valley.

Distance of Kongma La Pass: 17-19 KM from Lobuche to Chhukung.

Duration: 7-9 hours from Lobuche.

Difficulty: Hard Technical with high Altitude.

Kongma La altitude: (5,535 meters).

Tril becomes: Steep screes, slops, rocky zig-zags. Sometimes snow-covered sections.

Day 12: Island Peak climbing preparation, Day in Chhukung

This is a very important day for preparation and accommodation before going to the Island Peak Base Camp. Breakfast at Chhukung, your Climbing Guide will conduct a detailed briefing about the upcoming climbing Expedition, including the climbing route, safety procedures, and summit day information.

The Guide checks the climbing equipment, such as crampons, a harness, an ice axe, a helmet, and climbing boots, an ascender, and ropes to ensure everything is ready for ascending Island Peak.

Everest Base Camp with Island Peak climbing| In Chhukung, your guide will provide basic climbing training near Chhukung, where you can practice using climbing gear, walking with crampons, and safety skills. This preparation helps build confidence and improves your chances of safety and successful summit of Island Peak.

The rest of the day is reserved for acclimatization and hiking around Chhukung Valley. Here in Chhukung, you can enjoy views of the beautiful Himalayan Peaks, including Ama Dablam, Lhotse, and Island Peak.

Day 13: Trek from Chhukung to Island Peak Base Camp

Breakfast at Chhukung and your journey toward Ialand Peak Bae Camp. From here, the trail gradually climbs along the Imja Valley, passing rocky paths and the glacier moraines, and amazing alpine scenery. Durung the trek, you enjoy outstanding Himalaya views of Lhotse, Ama Dablam, and other mountain views.

When you cross streams and ascend steep sections, you will reach Island Peak Base Camp, located at approximately over five thousand meters above sea level. The trek takes about 4-6 hours, depending on walking pace and trail conditions.

After Arrival at Island Peak Base Camp, the climbing staff will set up tents and prepare meals. Here you can rest and enjoy the dramatic glacier surroundings while your climbing guide gives the final instructions for summit day.

In the afternoon, there may be another short practice session on climbing techniques and rope heading to help you prepare for the early morning summit push. Early dinner and proper rest are recommended before climbing Island Peak.

Durations: 4-5 hours walking from Chhukung.

Altitude: (4,970 m) Chhukung

Day 14: From Base Camp Summit to Island Peak, then return to Chhukung.

Today, from the Island Peak base camp, starts the summit push very early in the morning (around 2-3 AM). The climbing follows a rocky path, then transitions onto glacier terrain, where you use Crampons, a set of harnesses, ropes, and an ice axe.

Everest Base Camp trek with Island Peak climbing | The climbing route gradually steepens as you approach the headwall, which is the most technical part of the climbing. Fixed ropes are used to ascend the steep ice slope leading to the summit ridge.

At the top of Island Peak (Imja Tse, 6,189 m), you are rewarded with stunning close-up views of Everest, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, Makalu, and other beautiful Khumbu Himalayan peaks. After short photo sections, we carefully descend to Base Camp.

Return to Base Camp and trek continue to Chhukung village.

From Island Peak base camp, we descend back to the same route, retracing steps over the glacier and rocky terrain to Island Peak Base Camp. After a short break and packing your bag, trek down the Imja Valley toward Chhukung village.

After the Base Camp trail becomes easier at a lower altitude, passing through alpine meadows and yak grazing areas. Chhukung is a nice village, and you will get comfortable accommodation.

Distinction: Summit Island peak and return to Chhukung.
