Best Seasons for Phaplu to Everest Base Camp Trek

Spring (March – May)

The weather is clear with mountain views. Rhododendrons blooming in the Solu area (Phaplu to Nunthala, Kharikhola).Good for both trekking and climbing.Temperature: 15–20 °C daytime (lower areas), –5 to –10 °C at higher camps (Gorakshep/EBC).

Autumn (September – November)

Weather: Dry, crisp skies, excellent visibility. Peak trekking season. Sherpa festivals like Mani Rimdu in Tengboche (Oct–Nov). Less risk of heavy rain or snow. Temperature: Similar to spring, slightly colder in late November.

Other Season

Early winter (December): Still possible, with fewer trekkers. Cold above Dingboche and Gorakshep, some lodges may close, but skies remain clear.

Monsoon (June – August): Not recommended—heavy rain in the Phaplu–Kharikhola section, leeches, landslides, clouds hide views.

So, the best time is March–May (spring) or late September–November (autumn).
