Lukla to Island Peak (Imja Tse) is a popular trekking peak in the Everest region of Nepal. Here’s what you can expect to see from the summit and some information on the climb’s difficulty:
Day 01: Kathmandu to Lukla or flight from Ramechhap

From Kathmandu with a scenic mountain flight to Tenzing-Hillary Airport, Lukla

Day 02: | Phakding to Namche Bazaar

Lukla to Island peak | This is one of the most important and rewarding days of the Everest trek, leading into the heart of the Khumbu region at Namche Bazaar (3,440 m)

Day 03:Trek from Namche to Kumjung

Lukla to Island Peak | Short and scenic walking from Namche Bazaar via the beautiful Sherpa village of Khumjung. During walking from Namche, offering amazing Mountain views of Mount Everest, Thamserku, Ama Dablam, and other white mountain peaks. Along the trek, we pass through the tradidional Sherpa settlements, yak pastures, prayer flags, and Stone mani walls.
When you reach Syangboche, the route continues with a gentle walk to Khumjung, which is the largest Sherpa village in the Khumjung Valley. This village is well known for its peaceful atmosphere, ancient monastery, and the famous Hillary School established by Sir Edmund Hillary.
This village offers excellent opportunities to experaince Sherpa culture and enjoy panoramic Himalayan scenery in a quieter environment, the Namche Bazaar.
Walking Duration: 3-4 hours from Namche Bazaar to Khumjung via the Everest Hotel,

Day 04: Trek from Kumjung to Pangboche via the old Sherpa village of Phortse

Breakfast at Khumjung, then the trek follows a quieter and more scenic trail throgh the tardidianal Sherpa village of Phortse before heading to the Everest trail toward Pangboche. From Khumjung, the trek trail climbs gently to Mong La top, where you can enjoy beautiful views of Cho-oyu, Thamserku, Ama Dablam, Kang Tenga, and the Himalayan landscape.
From Mongla, the trail descends through Rhododendron with pine forest to the Phortse Tenga Khola before climbing up to Phortse village. Phortse Shera village is a peaceful settlement famous for producing many Everest climbers and Mountaineering Experience Sherpas. The Trekking route continues along the less crowded high trail with outstanding mountain views before we reach Pangboche.
Pangboche village is known for its ancient monastery, dramatic Himalayan scenery, and a close-up view of Ama Dablam.

Day : 05: Hike to Ama Dablam Base Camp and returne back to Sumore.

Lukla to Island Peak | After breakfast, hike to Ama Dablam Base Camp, located beneath one of the most stunning Himalayan peaks. Ama Dablam. From Pangboche, the route gradually climbs across Alpine meadows and yak grazing areas with beautiful panoramic views of Mount Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, and Island Peak.
Lukla to Island Peak: You are reaching the Ama Dablam Base Camp, and you can enjoy incredible close-up views of the Himalayas’ towering ice walls, hanging glaciers, and rocky ridges. The Ama Dablam Base Camp area is a beautiful and excellent place to rest, photograph, and enjoy the mountain atmosphere before descending back along the same route to Sumare.

Day 06: Trek from Sumare to Chhukung
The trek gradually ascends deeper into the upper Imja valley toward the small settlement of Chhukung. Trekking starts from Sumare. From here, the trail passes through the village of Orsho and Dingboche while offering amazing views of Ama Dablam, Lhotse, and Island Peak in the snow-covered mountain range.
Lukla to Island Peak via Dingboche, the trek continues along the open alpine terrain with beautiful landscapes, stone-walled fields, and glacial valleys. From here, the altitude increases, and the scenery is more dramatic and rugged. You arrive to Chhukung is a gentle but steady climb through the wide Imja Khola valley.
Chhukung village is a peaceful high-altitude settlement and a very important stop for climbers preparing for Island Peak, and other mounteenering Expedition. Chhukung village offers incredible panoramic views and excellent acclimatization opportunities.

Day 7: Acclimatization hike from Chhukung to Chhukung Ri and back to Chhukung.

Here is an important acclimatization day at Chhukung with a rewarding hike to Chhukung Ri, one of the best and good viewpoints in the Everest Khumbu region.
Lukla to Island Peak: the trail climbs steeply to Chhukung village across rocky slopes and alpine terrain. As we gain altitude, spectacular panoramic views begin to open up the Khumbu Himalaya with the valley.
After you reach Chhukung Ri Summit, the clients enjoy breathtaking close-up views of Everest, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, Island Peak, and the massive Glaciers of the Imja valley.
We espending 30 minutes at the viewpoint for rest and taking photographs, we descend back to Chhukung village. This hike helps acclimate the body to high elevation before going to Island Peak climbing.

Day 08: Chhukung to Island Peak Base Camp

From the Chhukung trail begins a gradual climb toward Island Peak Base Camp. The trail follows the rocky hillside along the Imja Valley with spectacular views of the High Himalayan Peaks, glaciers, and rugged landscapes.
During the trek, you can enjoy amazing mountain scenery, including Lhote and Ama Dablam, Chu Phulu, and Island Peak. The route becomes steeper as we approach the base camp area.
Now you are arrival in Island Peak Base Camp. Our climbing staff has already set up the tents and is preparing for the summit. Having you for lunch, your climbing guide will provide the final training and practice on using the climbing equipment, such as fixed ropes, harnesses, crampons, ascenders, and ice axes
At Base Camp, you will have time to rest, organize your climbing gear, and prepare mentally and physically for the early morning for the summit attempt.

Day 09: From Base to Island Peak summit and return to Base Camp

From Base Camp early in the morning, we begin the exciting ascent of the Island Peak under the guidance of our experienced climbing team.
Lukla to Island Peak climbing | Following the rocky trail glacier route, we slowly make our way higher with the help of headlamps and fixed ropes.
As the climb continues, the route becomes more technical with snow slopes, icy sections, and glacier crossings. Our guide will assist you in using crampons, harnesses, ascenders, and fixed ropes safely during the ascent.
Lukla to Island Peak | After a challenging climb, you reach the top of Island Peak (6189m), where you can enjoy panoramic views of Mount Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, Ama Dablam, and many other snow-covered Himalayan Peaks.
You are spending some memorable time at the top, taking photographs, and we carefully descend back to Island Peak Base Camp
From the Island Peak top, the return requires caution and patience on the steep icy section. After the Peak summit you arrival at base camp. You can relax and celebrate the successful summit with the guide while enjoying the incredible mountain atmosphere

Day 10:Island Peak Base Camp to Chhukung

Breakfast in Island Peak base camp, we descended along the rocky glacier trail back toward the amazing Imja Valley. The trail back to the same route used going up Base Camp from Chhukung.
From Base Camp, the trail is mostly downhill to Chhukung. When you return from Base Camp, you feel more at ease and comfortable after when you walk up the mountain. From Base Camp to Chhukung, you enjoy peaceful mountain landscapes.
After arrival, Chhukung checks your room and enjoys a well-deserved rest, warm meals, and good sleep. Chhukung is an ideal place to relax and celebrate the successful Island Peak climbing Expedition.

Day 11: Chhukung to Deboche
Trek from Chhukung to Deboche is a long descent route that takes the high alpine valley of the Imja region down into the forested lower Khumbu, passing through key villages of the Evererest region trek
Duration: 6-7 hours, Chhukung to Deboche.
Altitude: 3820 meters, Deboche Trek starts with a gradual descent from Imja valley, wide open alpine terrain, and joins the main trekking trail to Dingboche.

Day 12 Deboche -Namche Bazaar

Day 13: Namche to Lukla.

The Namche-to-Lukla section is the final walking section of the classic descent from the Everest region and is part of the Everest Base Camp trekking route.
Distance: 18-20 KM from Namche to Lukla.
Duration: 7-8 hours walking from Namche.
Difficulty: Moderate (Mostly) downhill and some up.
Altitude: 2,800 meters, Lukla.

Flight and Land Transport Service during the Island Peak climbing Expedition: You must take a flight from Kathmandu to Lukla and then back to Kathmandu. But there is another option: you can hire a local Jeep from Kathmandu to Surke, but you need three extra days. If you travel by Jeep, it takes 15 hours from Kathmandu to Buksa.
